Morgan Genieva Leslie

Morgan Genieva Leslie, PhD candidate, is an educational psychologist dedicated to understanding motivation, engagement, and learning across diverse educational contexts. As a Research Scientist in the TeknoLab at the University of Arizona, she works on the development of, implementation of, and train of others on rubrics used to quantify teacher responses. She also works to research and understand teacher characteristics and motivations that may impact their ability to learn and explore as mathematicians.

She is also an independent researcher, who collaborates with other research entities to better understand how motivation and individuals’ backgrounds inform how they are able to learn. Her work focuses on both motivation and cognition to better understand learning experiences through an individual’s perspective.

Before joining the TeknoLab, Morgan earned her Bachelor’s at the University of Texas at San Antonio, then earned her Master’s, and is currently completing her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Arizona.
